Although the majority of work may be carried out on site, occaisionally a situation arises where it is necessary to take the computer away for more comprehensive work back at the workshop. This is true of malware removal (virus and spyware removal) which can take anything up to 4 hours depending on the size of the hard drive to run 3 comprehensive scans, this is in order to do a thorough job and completely clean the machine. Also if upgrades or hardware replacement are necessary, it is likely the job will need to be finsished at the workshop ith a 3-5 working-day turnaround time.
A System Build job is where the system data is backed up then completey wiped for a fresh install of Windows. The Operating is re-installed together with any software required by the customer. Essential system hardware drivers and Mircosoft updates are installed and the customers data and emails are restored. The system is also tweaked and configured for peak performance. Due to the time this takes (about 3 hours) a fixed price of £75 is charged.
If parts are needed to be ordered they will normally be obtained and repairs will be carried out in 3-5 working days. Any new hardware parts carry a Home PC-FIX guarantee of 6 months. However if there is an unrelated issue arrising from the work carried out, this will lie outside the guarantee. I will be able to asses this on site, and if work is necessary this will be charged at the standard call out and technical support rate.
Home PC-FIX custom built systems carry a warranty of 1 year, the Green Low Carbon PC's carry a warranty of 2 years.
